Title: Infiltrate (tear down the walls and the gate)
Author: SkipandDi on AO3
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Length: 73000 words
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Graphic descriptions of violence
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: This is a moment Sherlock will look back to time and again as the future stalks forward; an instance he will use to justify his actions, the decisions he will make. He'd known Moriarty was working solely for his attention, even John had recognized as much during the first assault. But Sherlock has been a fool, a dangerous, incompetent fool, because this is so far beyond all that. It always has been.
Reccer's comments: Here with my first rec for the month! This is one of those fics that stay with you long after reading. I was told to read this by a friend and was left speechless at this fic in many moments. There are phrases which just describe the Sherlock/John dynamic so perfectly, that it is beautiful to read. It's not just Sherlock and John who are written well, but also the supporting cast in Mycroft, Moriarty and Lestrade.
