Title: A Moment's Surrender
Author: anchors
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Length: 64,272 words
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC

Author's summary: Sherlock tours worldwide with the English National Ballet. John dances the Lindy Hop competitively all across the globe. That they would meet, then, by the slimmest of chances in one lonely city, is pure coincidence. The whole 'dancing together' bit is a little more planned. Dancer!AU.

Reccer's comments: I adore well-done AUs, and this definitely qualifies. I really liked the way anchors talked about the dancing, not only the technical (which was helped immensely by the visual aids she linked to), but also the emotional. I don't dance at all, but I have a weakness for dance movies, and she beautifully conveys the concept of communicating with each other and the audience through movement. I also like that she includes two very different types of dance, and makes them work together. The relationship feels emotionally authentic, the other characters are well-drawn, and overall, it's a really good story.
