Reccer's comments: There are parts of The Velveteen Rabbit that still make me cry, so when I first came across The Velveteen Doctor I was almost afraid to read it. But I'm so glad I did. It's absolutely charming - a story of love unfolding slowly in ordinary moments of life for John and Sherlock, with John realizing how real he's becoming to Sherlock as Sherlock begins to love him, and how that affects them both. There's chemistry and sweetness and awkwardness and joy and it's all just beautiful.
For me, it's the Sherlock/John love story. And no, it doesn't make me cry. But it makes me grin from ear to ear.

There are some really wonderful fics in this fandom. I'm glad to know others are enjoying them, too. (And that my voracious appetite for fanfic can be put to good use! :D )
