Fic: Roman Holiday

Title: Roman Holiday
Author: [livejournal.com profile] flecalicious
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Length: 12,800
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Some non explicit descriptions of gore
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: “I came to Rome to solve a case, John, and that’s what I’m doing,” Sherlock said. “You have to trust me.” There’s a missing princess on the streets of Rome and Sherlock and John are romantically out of their depth.

Reccer's comments: This was one of my favourite entries for the Summer Holmestice competition. It's a lovely fic set in Rome where Sherlock and John go to solve a case amid the lovely descriptions of the city but you can sense that there is something out of kilter with their relationship. The fact that the fic starts in medias res keeps you reading to find out what happened and how it sweetly evolves. It's comfortable reading: well written, good flow and characterisations and a nice balance of case and relationship issues.
