Author's summary: A badly injured Sherlock waits for help to arrive. Naturally, he's more concerned with the whereabouts of his scarf.

Reccer's comments: This is one of my favourite Holmes brothers stories and also one of my favourite Hurt/Comfort fics. With his typical recklessness, Sherlock tries to go after a dangerous gang of criminals on his own and ends up getting seriously injured. And because John's on a date and Lestrade away on a holiday, the only person left for Sherlock to call is the last one he ever wants to ask for help - Mycroft.

In just 2,500 words the author gives us a profound insight into the complicated relationship between Sherlock and Mycroft, beautifully mixing past and present, hinting at how close they used to be and at why they no longer get on. If you love hurt!Sherlock and protective!Mycroft, this story is everything you've ever wanted.

On top of that, the narration is nothing short of brilliant. There doesn't seem to be a word too much in here and the way it's all told from Sherlock's fragmented perspective is masterfully done, showing how Sherlock is too numb with shock and pain to realise how badly's he's hurt, while at the same time allowing us readers to assess the seriousness of the situation.

The characterisations of both Sherlock and Mycroft are perfect, but even the characters who're only introduced fleetingly, such as John and Lestrade, are depicted with great love and care. The ending is warm and tender and made me want to hug each and every one of them to pieces.
