Title: Paper Chase
Author: [personal profile] Sam_Storyteller/Copperbadge
Pairing: Gen
Length: he doesn't say, but it's long enough to be split into two parts.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: author warns for "some gore", but I don't think there's anything too gross.
Verse: Sherlock BBC/White Collar
Author's summary: One criminal consultant. One consulting detective. One serial killer. And one perhaps inadvisable bet...

Reccer's comments: White Collar is my jam! Ngl, I sort of ship Neal/Sherlock LIKE BURNING. That doesn't really come into this, but there is some hardcore Neal/Sherlock bonding and friendship with an excellent competitive streak, which I find absolutely delightful. Essentially, Peter, Neal, John, and Sherlock team up to catch a serial murderer, then Neal and Sherlock try to out-clever each other. EXCELLENT.

Also, check out the sequel Rematch (gen/pg-13), which takes place in London and features a ~surprising twist~.

Title: The Perils of Urban Warfare
Author: [livejournal.com profile] phantomjam
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Length: 7,300 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: some case-related gore
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: The problems of acclimatising to civilian life a.k.a the travails of John, his therapist and Sherlock.

Reccer's comments: This is a wonderful John character study with bonus sleuthing and a John/Sherlock payoff that seems inevitable. After a sojourn to the dark side of shipping these two with everyone but each other, it's nice to read fics that remind me why I like them together in the first place, and this is really one of those. Sherlock is brilliantly obnoxious, and there are cameos by most of the show's minor characters in a way that doesn't feel shoehorned in. Love this one!

Sherlock’s eyes light up like gunfire, and John hears warning sirens in his laugh. )

Title: Ottery St Sherlock
Music Title & Artist: dialogue from the Cabin Pressure episode "Ottery St Mary".
Vidder: Tarnamackle
Pairing or Character: Gen
Verse: Sherlock BBC/Cabin Pressure
Link: on YouTube!

Reccer's Comments: The editing on this video is brilliant. This is one of the funniest exchanges in Cabin Pressure (which is saying something!) and the clips Tarnamackle chose suit it so extremely well. I sort of want to cry with laughter. I have definitely seen this video too many times!

Title: you took my hand and danced with me
Author: [livejournal.com profile] flecalicious
Pairing: Gen
Length: ~1,000 words
Rating: PG
Verse: Sherlock BBC/Doctor Who
Author's summary: It's bigger on the inside, she'd said, and he'd smiled and whisked her away.

Reccer's comments: Haha, oh god, I'm sorry I'm reccing ALL THE CROSSOVERS this round, but I love crossovers kind of more than everything. And this one. Oh. The women of Sherlock front and centre, traveling with the Doctor. Because they deserve it. The Sarah vignette is pitch perfect and Mrs Hudson's absolutely breaks my heart. More people need to write about these ladies (TARDIS optional).

Title: Compound a Felony
Author: by [livejournal.com profile] mistyzeo
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Length: 12,000
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: D/s, spanking, rimming
Verse: ACD canon
Author's summary: Sherlock Holmes knows there is something else about his new flatmate that he hasn't figured out yet. The truth is, it's a compliment to the thing he hasn't figured out about himself. John Watson, however, knows just how to handle the situation.
Reccer's comments: I love stories about partners learning how to develop their relationships to fit new parameters, and I love kink negotiation, so this fic delighted me in those two ways (and many others, besides). I enjoyed seeing Holmes long for something he can't quite name, and Watson is appropriately careful with him as he tries to go about things in just the right way. Mind-melting hotness is intermingled with insightful character development, and all of it is wrapped into a terribly satisfying (and thoroughly entertaining) whole.
