Title: honey-bees, come build in the empty house
Author:
coloredink
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Length: 750 Words
Rating: G
Warnings: none
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: My wall is loosening; honey-bees, / Come build in the empty house of the stare. Originally written for this kinkmeme prompt asking for John the beekeeper during the Hiatus. Title comes from The Stare's Nest By My Window by Yeats.
Reccer's comments: I love how authors tie ACD canon into Sherlock stories. And yet I sometimes I find it a stretch to imagine Sherlock keeping bees out in the country. Change it just a little bit though and I find it completely in character, and even poignant, that John has retreated to the country and is trying his hand at keeping bees in the wake of losing Sherlock. It's a beautiful piece from the fitting title to the touching end.
